This activity is about testing the truth of a characters beliefs. As you read consider a claim, statement, story or opinion shared by a character. Now look within the novel to find evidence for this claim. Use this evidence to build an argument that supports the character or proves their claim to be false. In some cases you might want to be tempted to explore evidence from beyond the novel. If you do this, ask would it be reasonable for this character to know about this external evidence? You might be finding evidence that did not exist in the time or the world that the character exists in. Be sure to keep this sort of evidence seperate.
